Features

  • Watch TV – Standard LiveTV features (pause, backward, forward, seek, support for picture in picture, schedule recording while watching another channel, etc).
  • Schedule Recordings – Record different programs from any channel based on downloaded program guide.
  • Watch Recordings – Select and watch any previously recorded programs that are saved on hard disk.
  • Delete Recordings – Select and delete any previously recorded programs.
  • Play Music – Play any song or album from music library already saved on hard disk. Visualization is available for any music play.
  • Select Music – Browse through the music library and play any title in it.
  • Import CD – Play directly from a CD and download the album to hard disk automatically.
  • Scan for New Music.
  • Browse Videos – Play any video clip saved in the hard disk video library. These clips can be from previous TV recordings, downloaded from Internet, copied from DVD, etc.
  • Video List – Lists the videos available in the library showing a cover image. You may select and play any selection.
  • Video Manager – Provides detailed information on each library clip.
  • Play DVD – Royal Linux Media Center can act as a DVD player and play a DVD movie directly from your DVD drive.
  • Play VCD – Watch a VCD on the Royal Linux Media Center.
  • Rip DVD – Allows you to record and/or transcode your selected choice clips from any DVD onto your hard disk.
  • Save, sort and display pictures. Images can be downloaded from a digital camera, Internet or other sources. You can have a slide show, rotate, and resize the images.
  • Get the weather report for any location in the world. Weather location, preferences, units, etc. can be set in the Weather section of the setup menu.

The Royal Linux Media Center feature set expands the basic functionality of some Set Top Cable TV Boxes as well as DVR (Digital Video Recorder), PVR (Personal Video Recorder), etc.

We integrated the latest stable versions of the following components into our implementation of Royal Linux Media Center:

  • Linux Kernel 2.6.9
  • GCC version 3.3.5
  • X Windows version 4.3.0 and libraries

 Other advanced features supported:

  • Latest video formats including WMV9, h.264 and High Definition TV
  • Optimized integration with the VGA drivers resulting in a smooth play-back experience
  • Supports simultaneous dual headed display of both VGA and TVout composite video signals.
