eXaminer
Embedded Software Group introduces the industry's first software only
protocol analyzer, eXaminer, with capability to support any
protocol including Internet, satellite, LAN/WAN, Ethernet, mobile etc.
In addition, as protocol analyzer for Bluetooth 1.1, ESG offers
Wireless eXaminer. Fully compliant with both Bluetooth IEEE802.11a
and IEEE802.11b, the ESG Wireless eXaminer is part of the ESG
development suite of tools which provide developers of embedded software
with both a strategic and competitive advantage.
Developers of Bluetooth-enabled devices now have the ability to
monitor, capture, decode, filter and display all Baseband packets within
a wireless network. The ESG Wireless eXaminer can also isolate,
decode and display higher-level protocol layers.
Modes of Operation
The ESG eXaminer operates in two main modes: Independent Mode
and Enhanced Mode. In Independent Mode, the protocol analyzer intercepts
the Baseband traffic and logs, decodes, analyzes and displays the packet
data being transmitted and received within the network. In Enhanced
Mode, the eXaminer is fully integrated with ESG's
eXposé, an innovative Integrated Development
Environment product. As a result, in Enhanced Mode it is also possible
to inject errors and modify the data stream.
The ESG eXaminer works seamlessly with developers’ preferred
system and debugging environment. Being a software-only solution, the
ESG eXaminer is not dependent on external hardware and/or devices
that can potentially introduce additional points of failure and increase
the complexity of the debugging process.
Features:
- Fully compliant with the Bluetooth 1.1, IEEE802.11a and
IEEE802.11b standards
- Isolates, decodes and displays Baseband, LMP, L2CAP, RFCOMM,
OBEX, TCS and SDP commands including services attributes, events and
data packets for visibility into higher protocol layers.
- Enables users, through data packet error generation, to inject
errors into packets and stress test the boundary conditions of their
designs.
- Allows users, through its advanced triggering and filtering
capabilities, to capture, log and display only events or
transactions of interest.
- Provides a free 'run analyzer' display that allows users to
continuously monitor the latest session transactions and offers
real-time screen updates.
- Offers direct logging to users' PC hard drives provides maximum
log history file size, and ensuring the ability to monitor packet
traffic long term.
- Captures and logs all Baseband packets transmitted within a
wireless network, including re-transmitted packets, for full session
transaction audits.
